Event Regulations for the 26th Nida International Half Marathon and the Lithuanian Half Marathon Cup

1. GENERAL PROVISIONS

VšĮ “Kuršių Legendos”, together with the Minicipality of Neringa, the Lithuanian Athletics Federation (LLAF), the Klaipėda Athletics Academy and the Klaipėda Runners’ Sports Club “Maratonas,”

will organize and conduct the 26th Nida International Half Marathon on 26 September 2026. The Lithuanian Half Marathon Cup is held in accordance with LLAF regulations.

2. PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

  • Encourage the public to engage in sport and take interest in sporting events;

  • Promote running and athletics in Lithuania;

  • Foster physical activity and running as a healthy lifestyle;

  • Identify the strongest runners across different age groups;

  • Extend the tourism season in Neringa.

3. DISTANCES

Participants may compete in the following distances:

  • Nida International Half Marathon

  • 5K presented by YIT

  • 2K Youth Run

  • 500m Kids Run

  • 210m Kids Run

4. DATE, VENUE AND SCHEDULE

Event date: 26 September 2026

All times local: EEST (UTC+3).

  • 10:00 – 210m Kids Run
    Start in Port of Nida, by the boat "Austėja". 14 Naglių St., Nida. Participants arrive at the start area by 09:50.

  • 10:10 – 500m Kids Run
    Start in front of the Neringa Municipality. Participants arrive at the start area by 10:00.

  • 10:20 – 2K Youth Run
    Start in front of the Neringa Municipality. Participants arrive at the start area by 10:10.

  • 11:00 – 26th Nida International Half Marathon (21.098 km)
    Start near Café Sakutis, 14A Naglių St. Participants arrive at the start area by 10:50.

  • 13:00 – 5K presented by YIT
    Start by the Catholic Church, 17 Taikos St. Participants arrive at the start area by 12:50.

Note: Start times and locations may change.

5. TIME LIMITS

  • Nida International Half Marathon: 3 h 30 min

  • 5K presented by YIT: 1 h 30 min

On race day, after 14:30 the electronic timing system will be switched off and finishing times will no longer be recorded. City streets will reopen at 15:00.

6. PARTICIPANTS

  1. Anyone may participate who has completed the entry form, checked their health, familiarized themselves with these Regulations, and confirmed this during registration. All participants take part voluntarily, under no compulsion, and assume all risks and responsibility related to participation (including risks connected with various health disorders, etc.), and undertake not to make any claims against the organizers of the run in this regard.

  2. Runners must present an identity document when collecting their bib.

  3. By registering, each participant also agrees that the organizers may freely use, for marketing purposes and without separate consent, all photos and video footage taken during the event. The participant agrees to be filmed and photographed and permits the use of created photo and video material without additional consent.

  4. Nida International Half Marathon (21.098 km): open to persons 18 years and older who have registered in accordance with these Regulations and paid the entry fee.

  5. 5K presented by YIT: no age groups; open to all who register in accordance with these Regulations and pay the entry fee.

7. ENTRY FEES AND REGISTRATION

  1. Participants may register online at reg.nidarun.lt until 2026‑09‑21 (23:59 EEST).

  2. A participant is considered registered after the entry fee has been paid through the Paysera system. The last opportunity to register is 2026‑09‑25 in Nida.

  3. The entry fee is non-refundable and non-transferable to another participant. If a free entry was provided by a company, partner, or other third party, the registration fee is not refundable.

  4. No registration on race day (2026‑09‑26).

  5. Registration for any distance must be in your own name. It is forbidden to give your bib number to another person; violators will be disqualified and their results excluded from the official results.

  6. A participant may change the selected distance; the distance-change fee is €10. When changing the distance, the participant must also pay any difference between the amount already paid and the fee applicable on the day of the change. If changing to a cheaper distance, overpayments are not refunded.

  7. A participant may correct mistakes in registration data (name, surname, club/team name, or any other information). The registration data change fee is €5. Changes are accepted until 2026‑09‑23 (18:00).

  8. Changes to registration data are made after the participant pays the fee and informs the organizers by email at info@nidarun.lt, attaching the payment receipt and the data to be changed.

  9. If you have registered but cannot participate due to injury, please email info@nidarun.lt. Indicate the participant’s name, surname, distance, amount paid, and attach a doctor’s certificate or hospital note.

8. BIB COLLECTION AND LAST-CHANCE REGISTRATION

25 September 2026, from 18:00 till 22:00 last chance to take part in this year’s runs!

  • 2K Youth Run, 500m Kids Run and 210m Kids Run: from 08:00 till 09:30

No new registrations on 26 September 2026!

You may pick up another participant’s bib only by presenting a copy of that participant’s identity document.

9. SPECIAL CONDITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS

  • Individuals confirmed to have COVID‑19, those having (or having had) contact with infected persons, or those with fever, shortness of breath, or chest pain at rest are prohibited from participating.

  • Each participant must wear a properly attached bib number on the front of the shirt (chest), clearly visible.

  • It is forbidden to run on the course without a clearly visible bib; such runners will be disqualified.

  • Participants and supporters are strictly prohibited from using any vehicles on the course (e.g., bicycles, rollerblades, skateboards, or other wheeled devices). Violators will be disqualified.

  • Any personal pacing/escort is forbidden during the race. Violators will be disqualified.

  • It is forbidden to walk or run on the course with animals. Violators will be disqualified.

  • Each participant must attach the bib with the electronic timing chip to their shirt. If the chip is not attached or is attached incorrectly, the participant’s time will not be recorded and they will not be included in the official results.

  • Timing chips are single-use—they do not need to be returned.

  • It is forbidden to leave the course without a referee’s permission; violators will be disqualified.

  • Any claims/protests must be filed in writing to the Chief Referee no later than 30 minutes after the competition ends. When submitting a protest, the participant must pay a €100 fee, which is refunded only if the appeal committee (marathon director, chief referee, LLAF representative) upholds the protest. Until the fee is paid, protests will not be considered.

  • 210m Kids Run results are not timed.


10. ON-COURSE POINTS

  • Aid stations with water and fruit will be set up on the Nida International Half Marathon course, on average every 5 km.

  • Portable toilets will be available on the half marathon course.


11. PARTICIPANT SERVICES

  • On event day, participants may leave belongings in a bag drop. Items must be placed in a zippered or tie-closure sports bag.

  • Portable toilets will be placed in participant gathering areas.

12. AWARDS

  • Lithuanian Half Marathon Cup: 1st–3rd place women and men are awarded LLAF cups.

  • Nida International Half Marathon: 1st–3rd place women and men receive trophies; 1st–6th place women and men receive cash prizes.

  • Winners of 1st place (woman and man) in the Nida International Half Marathon receive, at the following year’s event, a double room for two nights free of charge, regardless of which distance they run. Rooms are for winners only.

  • Nida International Half Marathon age-group 1st–3rd place women and men receive prizes.
    Certificates may be issued upon request to participants of the Nida International Half Marathon.

  • 5K presented by YIT: 1st–3rd place women and men receive prizes.

  • 2K Youth Run and 500m Kids Run: age-group 1st–3rd places receive diplomas and prizes.

  • 210m Kids Run: all participants who complete the distance receive commemorative souvenirs.

  • Youngest and oldest participants are awarded prizes.

  • Largest team/club in the Nida Half Marathon and 5K presented by YIT receives a trophy.

  • All participants who complete their distance receive commemorative souvenirs.

  1. Minors. Parents or coaches are responsible for all underage participants across all distances. Persons up to and including 17 years confirm upon registration that parental/guardian or coach consent has been obtained for participation and/or that they will be supervised for the entire event by a parent, guardian, or coach who assumes full responsibility for their health and safety.

  2. By registering, the participant confirms understanding that participation involves significant physical exertion; confirms that they have had a health check, comply with health check requirements set out in Lithuanian law, and will provide a medical certificate confirming fitness if requested by the organizers or other persons. If doubts arise about a participant’s fitness, the participant must, at the organizers’ request, cease participation and consult a physician.

  3. The participant understands and confirms that the organizers are not liable for and will not compensate any damage to the participant’s health or life. All risks and responsibility for health disorders, injuries, and accidents arising from participation lie solely with the participant.
